For us, the planning starts with the ceremony . The words, the feeling, and the couple’s unique history are the "navel"—the very centre—of the day. Everything else, including the location, must serve that story.

This journal is, therefore, unique. We don't just "scout venues." We search for spaces that have the power to hold a story. We search for the soul of a place. Because a location isn't just a backdrop; it's the third person in the relationship. It has to witness, support, and elevate your vows.

A Love Written in the Mist: Rebeca & Nicolas’s Magical Sintra Elopement

Rebeca and Nicolas’s day was a beautiful reminder of what love is: finding that one person you can be completely, playfully, and wonderfully yourself with. We were just lucky to be there to see it.

As creators of romantic experiences at Elope in Portugal, we get to witness so many beautiful love stories. But sometimes, you meet a couple and you know. From the moment we met Rebeca and Nicolas, we could feel it: this is a couple that truly lives for one another.

With their family on the other side of the ocean, connecting their homes in Brazil and Portugal, their bond felt incredibly strong and self-contained. It’s a privilege to see that kind of authentic, rare complicity. It was clear in every tender gesture and every shared look.

Their connection was just so full of life. Rebeca was wonderfully playful, making funny faces and sharing cheeky, mischievous glances throughout the entire elopement. And right by her side was Nicolas, her steady presence, always there for her, smiling back.

They joked, struck poses, and weren't afraid to be themselves, surprising our whole team with private gestures that were clearly theirs. They have their own secret language. It was so real that during the photoshoot, our photographer couldn't help himself, and the camera clicks were often followed by a "Wow, show de bola!" (Wow, awesome!).

For their day, I was secretly wishing for that classic, mystical Sintra fog. And the magic happened.

We took them to Peninha, one of our team's absolute favourite spots. The fog was thick and dreamy, covering the view of the sea. But it didn't matter. What we got instead was even better: a breathtaking world of magical greens and greys. It was pure magic.

This stunning backdrop was the perfect setting for their symbolic, Celtic-inspired ceremony.

Our February blog post is about J&N's Elopement Wedding...

J & N live in Porto, but they chose to elope in Lisbon. It was a tailored-made elopement wedding as the happy couple wanted to say "I Do" on a sailboat with an outstanding back scenario - Lisbon city!

The very special day was the 11th February. They arrived at the pick up point at 2:30PM. Right after the boarding briefing, they sailed away...

The symbolic elopement wedding ceremony started when they reach Commerce Square! Loads of photos and also video, hugs and kisses! Love was all around...

While sailing to Torre de Belém they did the Vows. It was such a special and lovely moment! After the vows, they exchanged the rings and were introduced to the universe as husband and wife.

At sunset they opened the sparkling wine and made a toast "Cheers to Love and to the Just Married!
