11. Can we personalise every part of our elopement?
Absolutely. Every elopement we create is unique because every couple is unique.
Our role is to listen first — and to keep listening throughout the entire planning process. We pay attention not only to what you tell us directly, but also to the details that emerge along the way: your stories, your silences, spontaneous remarks and the small things that often reveal what truly matters to you.

12. Who will conduct our ceremony?
Your ceremony is entrusted to a professional celebrant selected according to your language, personality, expectations and the kind of ceremony you want to experience. We work with experienced celebrants who understand that a symbolic ceremony is not a generic script, but something that should reflect the people standing in front of them.

13. Can we write our own vows?
Yes. Your vows can be entirely your own, adapted from ideas that already have meaning for you, or developed with guidance from your celebrant.
Some couples arrive knowing exactly what they want to say. Others find the idea of writing vows more challenging. Both are perfectly valid. We help you find the format and tone that feel right, without forcing words or emotions that do not belong to you.
14. Can family or friends be involved in the ceremony?
Of course. Even in a very intimate celebration, family and friends can have a meaningful role if that feels right for you.

15. How long do we have to confirm our proposal?
Every proposal includes a validity period.
Before presenting it to you, we contact the professionals involved and confirm their availability for your date. For that reason, we cannot hold the team indefinitely without a decision.
If we have not heard from you before the proposal expires, we will contact you to ask whether you would like to proceed so that, if necessary, we can release the professionals involved.
We completely understand that plans change. All we ask is that you let us know. A simple reply is always appreciated and allows us to respect the time and commitment of everyone involved.
16. Can we include Portuguese traditions and cultural experiences?
Absolutely. Portugal can become part of your story, rather than simply the setting for your wedding.
Depending on your interests, your experience might include Portuguese music, regional gastronomy, local artisans, family traditions, a visit to a small producer or a historical encounter connected to the place you have chosen.
It might even mean having a member of the Templars guide you through the history and symbolism of an old chapel or medieval site.
We do not add cultural elements because they look impressive. We include them when they create meaning, context and a deeper connection with Portugal.
17. How do you choose the right location for us?
We are not looking for famous places simply because they are famous.
We look for places that make sense for your story, your personalities, the atmosphere you want to create and the way you want to experience the day.

19. Is sustainability part of the experience?
Very much so.
Whenever possible, we prioritise local professionals, seasonal flowers, independent businesses and choices with a lower environmental impact.

Thoughtful planning is what creates space for spontaneity. From timing and locations to weather, travel and coordination, every practical decision is considered in advance so that, on the day itself, you can simply be present.
21. How far in advance should we start planning our elopement?
There is no single rule, but the earlier we begin, the more choice we have, particularly when it comes to locations and the professionals we want to bring together for your day.
Some elopements are planned many months in advance; others come together in a much shorter timeframe. What matters is having enough time to make thoughtful decisions without turning the planning process into a race.
If you are considering a legal marriage in Portugal, we recommend starting the process at least six months in advance. This allows enough time to prepare the required documentation and ensures that all official documents remain valid throughout the process.
22. What is the best time of year to elope in Portugal?
Portugal can be beautiful throughout the year, but there is no universally "best" season.
The right time depends on where you want to go, the landscape you imagine, the temperatures you enjoy and the atmosphere you want to experience.
Spring and autumn can offer wonderful light and milder temperatures. Summer brings long days, but it can also bring heatwaves, crowds and increased pressure on some destinations. Winter can be wonderfully quiet and atmospheric, particularly for couples who value privacy.
We look beyond the calendar and help you choose the season that best suits your experience. Whatever the time of year, every recommendation comes with a carefully considered Plan B.
23. How do you plan around weather and changing climate conditions?
Weather has always been part of outdoor wedding planning, but climate change means that historical expectations are no longer enough.
We consider location, season, temperature, wind, exposure, fire risk where relevant, tides for coastal settings and the time of day. During periods of extreme heat, for example, we may recommend a later ceremony rather than asking everyone to endure uncomfortable conditions simply because a particular time was originally planned.
We also discuss alternatives and contingency plans whenever they are needed.
The landscape is part of the experience, and respecting its conditions is part of good planning.
24. Can we have more than one location on the same day?
Absolutely — when it adds something to the experience.
Portugal makes it possible to move between very different landscapes within relatively short distances. A day might begin in a palace, continue through a forest and end beside the Atlantic, for example.
But more locations do not automatically create a better elopement. Every transfer takes time away from actually experiencing the day.
We prefer a thoughtful journey to a checklist of beautiful places.
25. How do you create the timeline for our elopement?
The timeline is built around the experience, not the other way around.
We consider the ceremony, locations, distances, light, photography and film, hair and makeup, meals, transport and seasonal conditions, while always leaving space for the moments when you simply need time to be together.
We also take daylight into account. Between May and August, sunset in Portugal happens quite late, which can influence the rhythm of the day. If you are planning a private dinner or a gastronomic experience, we carefully balance the schedule so that neither the photography nor the dining experience feels rushed.
We coordinate all the professionals involved so everyone understands how the day should unfold.
A good timeline provides structure without making you feel that you are living by the clock.
26. What happens if something changes at the last minute?
We adapt, because flexibility is part of every outdoor celebration.
Weather, roads, venues and many other factors can change unexpectedly. Our role is to assess the situation, communicate with the professionals involved and find the most appropriate solution while protecting the essence of the experience we created together.
Whenever possible, you should not spend your wedding day coordinating solutions.
That is our job.
27. Do we need transport between locations?
It depends on the experience we create.
When several locations are involved, private transport is often the most comfortable and efficient option. It also removes practical concerns such as parking, navigation and access to protected or restricted areas, including Sintra-Cascais Natural Park and Bussaco Forest.
Transport is not simply about getting from one place to another. The route, timing and accessibility of each location are carefully considered as part of the overall experience.
And sometimes, the best journey is on foot.
28. Can you help with accommodation and local recommendations?
Yes. We can recommend accommodation, restaurants and local experiences that complement both the location and the way you want to experience Portugal.
We particularly value places with character, independent businesses and recommendations that allow you to engage with the destination beyond the wedding itself.
While we are not a travel agency and do not book flights or accommodation, we are far more than traditional wedding planners.
We create romantic experiences shaped around your story, where the wedding is only one part of a much richer journey.
29. How much time should we allow for photography and film?
Enough to preserve the story, but never so much that photography becomes the story.
The right amount of time depends on your locations, the type of coverage you choose and how much of the day you want documented.
For most elopements, we recommend between four and six hours of photography. This allows enough time to tell the story naturally without making the day revolve around the camera.
We also believe there should be moments that belong entirely to you. Not every conversation, embrace or silence needs to be photographed.
Photography and film should preserve your memories, not become the experience itself.
30. How do you make sure the day feels relaxed rather than over-planned?
By doing a great deal of planning beforehand.
We coordinate timings, routes, professionals, logistics and alternatives so that you do not have to think about them on the day.
At the same time, we deliberately leave room for pauses, spontaneity and changes of rhythm. If you want to stay somewhere a little longer, enjoy another glass of wine or simply sit together and watch the ocean, the experience should have room for that.
The timeline guides the day. It does not own it.
