The Quinta: Exclusive Venue in Sintra,
near Monserrate
Next to the romantic Monserrate, discover a hidden 18th-century estate where art, nature, and silence converge. Exclusively yours. A Sanctuary of History. An Exclusive Canvas for Your Love.
The Setting
Where Time Stands Still
Sintra is a place of secrets, but few are as captivating as this.
Tucked away in the lush embrace of the Serra, neighbour to the dreamlike Palace of Monserrate, lies our new home.
This is not a hotel; it is a private 18th-century Quinta teeming with estórias (stories) yet to be told.
Echoes of the Monks, Visions of the Artists
The Ancestral Home
The landscape here was shaped by devotion. Running through the grounds is a majestic 16th-century aqueduct, hand-built by the silence-sworn Monks of the Convento dos Capuchos. It stands as a testament to patience and endurance, fitting symbols for the commitment of marriage.
The Main House is not merely a venue; it is the cherished private sanctuary of an old family, anyes
18th-century jewel of art and memory. Every object here holds a narrative; every window frames a living painting of green.
To preserve the intimacy and legacy of this residence, the interiors are not open for general use. However, as part of your exclusive experience, select rooms may be unveiled for editorial-style photography. This access is a rare privilege, available strictly upon consultation, allowing you to capture the essence of history while respecting the sanctity of a living home.
A Garden of Whispers
Here, the camellias bloom like secrets kept between lovers, and the ancient water paths guide the way.
Nature here is not just a backdrop; it is a participant. The gardens are a lush labyrinth of texture and scent, dominated by century-old camellias that paint the winter and spring in vivid colour. Whether you choose to exchange vows beneath the arches of the aqueduct or amidst the blooming groves, the setting offers a profound sense of intimacy and peace.
The Experience
Your Private Realm

We offer you the rare freedom of a "blank canvas"—exclusive and versatile—yet framed by the respectful silence of a family home and the ancient rhythm of the Serra. Here, your vision is brought to life in harmony with the environment, creating a celebration that feels both wild and profoundly elegant.

FAQs
Curated clarity for your peace of mind. Here, we address the practical details so you can focus entirely on the poetry of your day.
Is the estate exclusively ours
for the day?
Yes, absolutely. Unlike hotels or public venues, "The Quinta" is a private sanctuary. When you book your elopement or boutique wedding with Elope in Portugal, the gates are closed to the world. You will have sole access to the gardens, the 16th-century Aqueduct, and the grounds, ensuring total privacy and silence for your vows.
Can we hold the reception inside the Main House?
The Main House is a private ancestral home, not a function hall. To preserve its history and the family's privacy, the interiors are not available for dining or general guest access. However, we understand the allure of its art and architecture. As a special privilege for our couples, we may authorise a short, exclusive session for editorial-style photography in select rooms, strictly upon prior consultation.
What happens if
it rains?
We are prepared. Nature is part of the charm of Sintra, but we never leave your day to chance. Since the Main House interiors are reserved, we have elegant contingency plans for the gardens. Depending on your guest count, we can deploy sophisticated stretch tents that keep you dry while allowing you to remain immersed in the beauty of the camellias and the aqueduct.
What is the capacity
of the venue?
We specialise in intimacy. We specialise in intimacy. The estate was curated to create a welcoming atmosphere, far from the crowds.
It is the perfect setting for elopements, intimate weddings, and grand celebrations
(up to 150 guests).
Can we hire our
own vendors?
We believe in a collaborative creative process. Elope in Portugal manages the core planning, styling, and floral design to guarantee the aesthetic integrity and logistical safety of this historic property.
However, you have the freedom to select your own photographer, videographer, hair & makeup artist, and entertainment professionals, as we understand these are deeply personal choices.
Important Note: To ensure a seamless flow, all external vendors must undergo our prior consultation and approval. We reserve the right to decline vendors where a productive working relationship cannot be guaranteed, ensuring the entire team is fully aligned with the high level of service and privacy
this venue demands.
Is there accommodation
on-site?
The Quinta is a sanctuary for celebration, not for accommodation. As this is a private residence, we do not offer overnight stays. The gates open exclusively for your event and close once the celebration concludes.
However, our privileged location in Colares places you just minutes away from some of Portugal’s most exquisite boutique hotels and palaces. We are happy to share our curated list of recommendations nearby.
